Paul has travelled widely in search of birds and from his time in the navy has developed a particular interest in seabirds and waders, and the Dungeness area is ideal for pursuing both tribes.

A former bird recorder for Bedfordshire and warden of Dunstable Wetland Reserve, Paul is the author of many articles and several books on birds and is also a regular contributor to Birdwatching magazine. He has spent much of his time birding in the Home Counties, East Anglia and Kent, but also has a passion for our native islands and in particular seabird cities from St Kilda to the Farnes and Handa to Lundy.
